At a meeting of our Club members to consider the projects for the year, it was indicated that the Brunswick Elderly Citizens Club was in need of a piano and, as one of our members was in this line of business, he was asked to purchase a suitable instrument. This was done and after tuning and polishing the total cost was two hundred and eight pounds. This was presented to the Brunswick Elderly Citizens Club; their members were very grateful for the gift and a letter of appreciation was received.
A Theatre Night was held at the Tivoli theatre and the receipts obtained after all expenses paid were eighty eight pounds.
At one of the Directors Meetings of our Club it was decided that some thought be given to the formation of a Sheltered Workshop in the Brunswick area. This was considered to be a very worthwhile project, however a great deal of thought should be given, not only from a cost angle, but all the ramifications involved.
After a great deal of discussion it was decided that a feasibility study be carried out by members of our Club to obtain as much information as possible.
The Asian nurses Christmas picnic was held at John Coleman’s Hotel at Dromana and a very enjoyable day was had by all who attended. The nurses were each presented with a gold plated pen.
