District Governor: Frank Newman (Rotary Club of Melbourne)
President: Greg Sewell
Secretary: Bob Jamieson
Treasurer: Colin Simpson

The first two Saturdays of this Rotary Year commenced with the Rotoract members and some of the Rotary members delivering wood from Whelan's yard to pensioners in the Brunswick area.

The Rotoract Changeover Night was held at "Chez Lucien", Essendon on 11 July 1975. It was very encouraging to see the young people enjoying being Rotoractors. Quite a few of our members attended and the cost of the meal was $16 per double.

Two students were sponsored to attend the RYLA Seminar with the cost having increased to $240. Again the students spoke at our Club meeting at a later date.

A Theatre Night was arranged in August and the members and their ladies enjoyed it very much; it also was a financial success.

A "Casino Night" was held at Owen and Betty Whelan's home at Templestowe, a wonderful setting for such a function. The food was excellent with anything one wanted in the way of drinks. This may have helped to make the evening the financial success it was as well as a most successful get together.

A pear picking weekend at Shepparton was arranged by the President, Greg Sewell, and his able assistant Jack Luke. This is the first time any function of this type has been arranged. Thirteen Rotarians, along with their wives and families, attended. It was a most successful weekend both as a social get together and the amount of pears picked - 8 tons on the Saturday afternoon and the Sunday morning 14 and 15 February 1976.

Jack Luke drove a Sewell truck to Shepparton and brought back the pears and distributed them to PANCH Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, Mount Royal Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, Elderly Citizens Brunswick Group, Janefield Centre, Greenvale Geriatric Centre, Churinga and St. John of God Lilydale Homes for Retarded Boys, Mount Royal Sheltered Workshop, Majorie Nunan Memorial Homes and the Aged Pensioners of Brunswick.

Greg and Jack and their families are to be congratulated for the time and effort spent in organising this project and also the Rotarians and families for their efforts.

At the time the value of the pears picked was $2,400.

In March a Band Concert was held in the Dallas Brooks Hall. The Footscray-Yarraville Band, who had previously won the World Championship overseas, gave a magnificent display of Band Recitals. This was arranged by the Rotary Club of Northcote, and ably assisted by our own Club, every seat in the Hall was taken.

The Brunswick Sheltered Workshop was registered by Mount Royal as a Sheltered Workshop in this Rotary Year.

A new Mini Bus was purchased and presented by President Greg Sewell to the Mount Royal Centre from the fund raising efforts of our Rotary Club during this Rotary Year.
