The information on this page is from the Club's publication "A History of the Rotary Club of Brunswick" Golden Jubilee 2nd edition, 2003:

District Governor: Geoff Crockford (Rotary Club of Northcote)
President: Jock Summerfield
Secretary: Bob Jamieson
Treasurer: Colin Simpson
A Progressive Dinner was held in the first month of this Rotary Year; pre-dinner drinks and savouries at the home of Cyril and Jean Hansen, main course and dinner drinks at Lauri and Pam Penttila's and sweets, coffee and liqueurs at Jock and Louise Summerfield's. The evening was a most successful function, raising $400.
A National Trust Plaque was presented to Christ Church, Glenlyon Road, Brunswick on the occasion of the Church being proclaimed by the National Trust. The cost to the Club was $125.
Our Club decided, after learning that the Brunswick Creche required painting throughout the interior, to arrange and pay for the painting at a cost of $314.
A Ladies Night in the form of a Dinner Dance was held at Salzburg Lodge, Heidelberg.
A Car Trial and Bar-B-Que was held on 7 November starting from Victoria Street, Coburg at 9:00am and cars were sent off at 2 minute intervals, the distance to travel being 107 kilometres. The amount raised for this function was $1,000.
A Christmas Party was held at the home of Jock and Louise Summerfield on 12 December with the children receiving presents and all who attended had a wonderful day.
Our Rotary Club presented Christmas cakes to all workers and staff of the Brunswick Sheltered Workshop.
A Brunswick Rotary Club Picnic was held at the Mornington home of Jock and Louise Summerfield. It was a perfect day for the beach and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
A Casino Night was held at the home of Owen and Betty Whelan at Templestowe in support of Mount Royal. The evening was very well attended and proved to be most successful from a social and financial point of view.
A Wine Auction was held on 26 May at our Club luncheon, Lauri Penttila being the Auctioneer. It was said he missed his calling - he should have been an Auctioneer instead of a Solicitor. The amount raised at the meeting was $534.
A Jazz Night was held in June as the final event for this year. Everyone who attended enjoyed it immensely and the amount raised on this occasion was $500.
Two students were again sponsored to attend the RYLA Seminar; the cost of this was $260.
